Choose Your Rider Level
To make sure everyone has the best possible experience on the trails, we ask riders to choose the level that best matches their ability when booking.
Our experiences are designed for riders ranging from complete beginners through to highly experienced enduro riders, so understanding your level helps us match you with the right terrain, coaching and pace for the day.
Below is a guide to help you determine your Rider Level (1–10).
Rider Level Guide
Level 1 – Complete Beginner
You have never ridden a motorcycle before.
You may have experience riding a bicycle, but you have no experience with throttle, clutch or gears.
At this level we focus on:
- Basic motorcycle controls
- Balance and body position
- Starting, stopping and turning
Confidence building in a safe environment.
Level 2 – First Time Rider
You may have very limited motorcycle experience, perhaps riding briefly in the past or on private land.
You are still learning:
- Clutch and gear control
- Slow speed balance
- Basic riding technique
Terrain will be very gentle and controlled.
Level 3 – Beginner Rider
You have ridden a geared motorcycle before, but only occasionally.
You are comfortable with:
- Clutch and gears
- Basic riding movement
However you may have little or no off-road experience.
You are still developing confidence on loose surfaces such as gravel, dirt or mud.
Level 4 – Developing Rider
You have some experience riding motorcycles and have begun riding off-road or trail riding.
You are comfortable with:
- Basic off-road riding techniques
- Standing on the pegs
- Riding uneven terrain
You may still struggle with:
Steeper hills
Loose surfaces
Technical sections
Level 5 – Confident Intermediate
You ride motorcycles regularly and have good control of clutch, throttle and braking.
You have experience riding:
- Gravel tracks
- Forestry roads
- Basic off-road trails
You can handle moderate terrain but may still be developing technical skills.
Level 6 – Strong Intermediate
You ride off-road regularly and have solid control in most conditions.
You are comfortable with:
- Hill climbs and descents
- Mud, ruts and loose terrain
- Riding for longer periods
You are developing more advanced riding techniques.
Level 7 – Experienced Off-Road Rider
You have significant experience riding enduro or trail bikes.
You are comfortable with:
- Technical terrain
Steep climbs and descents - Rocky and uneven surfaces
- Maintaining good pace on challenging trails
You ride off-road regularly.
Level 8 – Advanced Rider
You are a very experienced off-road rider.
You may have:
- Years of riding experience
Enduro, motocross or trail riding background
You are comfortable tackling difficult terrain, technical sections and longer rides.
Level 9 – Expert Rider
You ride at a very high level and are confident on extremely technical terrain.
You may:
- Compete in local or regional events
- Train regularly
- Ride difficult terrain at speed
You have strong endurance, technique and bike control.
Level 10 – National Level Competitor
You compete in national-level enduro, motocross or extreme off-road events.
Riders at this level have:
- Elite technical ability
- Extensive experience across all terrain
- Competitive race experience
This is the highest level of rider ability.
